Two-tone mermaid cushion review!

These cushions have been doing the rounds in the special needs groups the past few months so you have likely seen them.

We had this cushion delivered yesterday and Edwin just loves it! I brought the full sized cushion and also a mini sensory patch. Both are from a etsy shop/Facebook page.

This company is called the comfy cushion company. They are a pretty small company who sell handmade items.
You can find there Facebook page here.

So now for our review…

When I first seen these I thought they looked amazing but at the same time I thought it would be scratchy and painful to touch.

So last week I seen them again on the comfy cushion company Facebook page. I decided I would buy a cushion and see what it was like for a review. I have been finding new and small company’s products to review.

The cushions come in a range of colours but they only have the one size from this company.

The back of the cushion is plain black and soft to the touch so if you wanted to use it as cushion you could just turn it over and use the back.

The feel of the cushion is pretty hard to describe. It looks like it would be very scratchy like having sequins on a dress or clothing is. But it’s the opposite it’s lovely and soft very textile and easy to use.

To use the cushion all you have to do is run your hands either up or down the sequins to move them either up or down changing the colour of ten cushion in the process and giving a textile sensory reward.

At the same time you also get a visual sensory reward seeing the colour of the sequins change from teal to black.

The cost of the cushion was £12 but at the same time the company’s owner told me about there sensor patches so I added one to our order. The patches cost £5 each and we choose the green and black patch.

The patches are smaller then the cushions and flat. They have sequins on one side and a soft fleece like feeling fabric on the back. The patch works the same way as the cushion but is small enough to fit in your pocket. Would make a very good fidget toy as while it’s small it’s still a good size to play with and gives the same feel as the cushion without the bulky size.

Both items are very well made and Edwin loves the cushion he likes the patch too but prefers the cushion.

I would recommend both product we have reviewed here and would also recommend the company’s etsy stop I paid by PayPal and deliver took a few days witch was pretty fast. Both items come well packaged within the same package with a invoice attached.

This is the end of our review but I will add I will be buying two more one for myself and one or my mother for Mother’s Day as she also wants one!
